Prelaunch draft — not yet effective. Last updated August 1, 2026. This notice requires owner and legal review before public registration or billing begins.

Hackathon Network helps builders participate in events and helps organizers operate them. This notice explains the information the service is designed to process and the choices available to people who use it.

Information we process

Account information may include your verified email address, display name, profile details, skills, interests, availability, links, and sign-in provider identifiers. Event activity may include registrations, application answers, team membership, invitations, project content, private evidence files, submissions, judging records, results, announcements, and organizer audit history.

Organizer billing is handled through Stripe. Hackathon Network is designed to store Stripe customer, subscription, plan, status, and event references—not complete payment-card numbers. Support requests may include your contact details, the page you were using, browser context, and the message you choose to send through Cozable.

How we use information

We use information to provide and secure accounts; enforce event and organization access; operate registration, teams, submissions, judging, results, billing, and support; detect misuse; troubleshoot incidents; and improve the reliability of the service. We do not sell personal information or use private project evidence for advertising.

Visibility and sharing

Profile and project information is private unless you or an authorized organizer publish it through an available product control. Organizers can access information needed to run their events. Judges can access only assigned projects after accepting an invitation. Service providers may process bounded information for hosting, authentication, Azure SQL and storage, payments, transactional email, analytics, and support.

Retention, security, and deletion

Records are kept only as long as needed for the product, security, legal, and operational purposes described here. Paid capability ending does not automatically delete private event records. The service uses server-side authorization, managed identities, encrypted HTTPS transport, private project storage, audit records, and restricted secrets. No system can guarantee absolute security.

Before launch, we will publish specific retention periods and a verified process for access, correction, export, and deletion requests. Until then, questions and prelaunch requests can be sent to privacy@hackathon.network.

Children and changes

The first release is not intended for children under 13. Organizers serving schools or minors must obtain any required permissions and use age-appropriate practices. Material changes to the effective notice will be dated and posted here before they take effect.
